I watched as Ellie led one of her patients past the front desk of Devotional Spa. Today had been a particularly busy day where it seemed as if she wasn’t going to get much of a break until later in the afternoon. I’d taken the opportunity to sit in one of the spare rooms that had a small table and chair and gave me a perfect view of who was entering and leaving the facility.

When my phone buzzed on the table next to me, I glanced down at the screen and was surprised to see the name that appeared. I answered immediately.

“You got a minute?”

I waited a beat. “I have two.”

Ace Bolton chuckled on the other end of the line, and I was taken aback by it. It was so rare to hear him voice any form of happiness. That didn’t take away from the fact that he was one of the best guys in this business who didn’t work for me, much to my chagrin.

“You mentioned to me a couple of weeks ago that you were trying to find your father.”

I nodded even though he couldn’t see me. I knew how many connections Ace now had in the city, and I wanted as many people keeping an eye out for him as possible. Ace had offered to help get the bastard.

“We know where Neil has been sniffing around.”

I tightened my grip on my cell phone. “I’m listening.”

“He was last heard trying to get into contact with Will DePalma. Don’t know if he made contact or not.”

“Son of a…how solid is your information?”

“You know better than to ask me that. Anyone will talk for the right price or to save their ass. Trust me, what I shared was the truth. I could have dug further but I thought you might want to handle this yourself.”

I cussed again. “Thanks, get in touch if you find anything else.”

“Always.”

The call ended and I found the number of the person I knew needed to go with me to meet with the mafia. Before I pressed down on my screen, I said, “When I get my hands on him, he’s fucking dead.”
